My build is based on a Gibson AJ. I've used the dimensions for the length, lower & upper bout, and waist that I found on the net. The thing is I haven't found the bracing locations for the back. Is there a "standard" ratio used for the location of the braces on the back? If not, how are the brace locations typically calculated?

I know some of the "grizzled" guys will disapprove of me departing from a specific set of plans. Part of the fun is being a pioneer! Unfortunately, pioneers tend to take the arrows.

I use 4, 7.25, 10.75 and 14.75 from the neck joint to the front edge of the brace. Model independant pretty much.

I use my eye ball.

I would be interested to hear if there is standard placement. But as for me I have never measured the location of my back braces.Josh H39057.9441550926

I am pretty much as Tony. I played with the bracing alot on my first few guitars. The back bracing I think has more influence by the shape of it than the location.
I use the old shape that martin used. Lower and wider on the 2 lower braces.

I make several model sizes but use a "formula". I measure the distance between the neck/heel block and tail block and divide by 5 to get five "spaces" with four transverse braces.
